500 only, tresor records is fortunate enough to be sitting on a catalogue of past releases that no other label in electronic music would turn down. three of the finest in this collection were albums contributed by surgeon, * basictonalvocabulary*, * balance* and * force + form* all originally came out on the berlin institution between 1997 and 1999. surgeons inimitable combination of detroit techno and post-industrial sounds emanating from his british homeland found its fullest expression in these masterful trio of releases on tresor. the balance remakes 12 accompanied surgeons second tresor album in 1998, with additional versions as well as a remix by long-time birmingham collaborator mick harris.

in april of this year, donato dozzy took a set of mouth harps back to his parents house in the italian countryside and set about exploring the possibilities of that most basic of instruments. the mouth harp had been calling to dozzy ever since childhood, when he had discovered the marranzano on a holiday in sicily with this parents at the tail end of the 1970s. almost four decades later, dozzy had begun to see in this peculiar, ancient sound, the roots of the music hed been making and playing in clubs all these years. it was time to find out how far he could trace it all back. the loud silence is the result of those explorations, an accompanied deep-dive into childhood memory, social history and the roots of psychedelia.

after a series of mesmerising (and massive) eps under his more disco orientated yse saint laur ant moniker pressed for time label head ant plate is back in his deep house mode with an ep of yse goodness no messing about with the opener this loves the same yse goes straight in there with some dancefloor heat that has enough quirk to counteract the house swing. 9828 is all badboy garridge wonk with some excellent detuned chords and a catchy, nagging vocal refrain - swag. on the flip, i gave you my is proper deep house (as in it s actually deep) with some trademark yse chords, blissed out vocal samples and great drum programming. night prescription rounds things off with a homage to the classic us house sound. think chuggles i remember dance but with an east midlands twist.

his desert brothers ep, consists of 3 tracks, hide, withdrawal and, of course, desert brothers. its not easy to classify the ep in a specific music genre. all 3 tracks have a very distinctive drums programming and groovy bass. they could be easily played in a big club during the peak time of a set or at a dark basement during the after hours. they have this strange deepness that calms you down but at the same time the first kick after the break easily gets your fist up.

dynarec started making music in 1994. his productions, influenced by drexciya and dopplereffekt, are a mix of deep atmospheric pads and leads with cool to very heavy drums.his first releases on delsin in 2003 and 2004 were picked up by djs such as laurent garnier and dave clarke. after some more records on nature and kondi, he started his own « vaporwave » label in 2005, four records were released to date. he is able to fill in some very emotional and melodic workout that makes you wonder, how is he able to do that? playing piano since he was 6 years old could be an answer to his performing skills. apart from delsin, nature and kondi, he has also released on southern outpost, electrix and lately, on keith tuckers puzzlebox label (us) and on cultivated electronics (uk). dynarec also releases music under the names of speakwave and chris kalera. he has performed worldwide, including festivals such as the famous stereolize, in paris, and the amsterdam dance event, amongst others.

the dance is the result of a long lasting musical love affair between kontra-musik s ulf eriksson and sebastian mullaert (aka minilogue). as most love affairs, it started off as an exciting experiment: ulf would play records and sebastian would bring out his music gear and play a live set. as they were touring with this live concept, their sounds started to really integrate, and after one especially fine night at trouw, amsterdam, ulf and sebastian decided it was time to conceive the dance. once the decision was taken, everything else came naturally. the dance was to be recorded live, in one take, at kontra-musik s home field inkonst, malmo, sweden.
